IFOM is a research institute specialized in the study of tumour formation and development. Its aim is to create a powerful technological infrastructure that would allow research groups from different Italian academic institutions access to equipment and techniques otherwise unavailable to them. In particular, it hosts both Affymetrix and cDNA microarray platforms, a Molecular Pathology central facility and an advanced bioinformatics unit. IFOM will coordinate workpackage 6, aimed at the clinical validation of cancer molecular signature of diagnostic interest.
